1. Acceptance of Terms
By installing or using the Vanta Security browser extension ("the Extension"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please uninstall the Extension.
2. Description of Service
Vanta Security is a free browser extension that helps protect users from phishing websites, malware, and malicious payment redirects by:
- Checking URLs against the Google Safe Browsing API
- Scanning inline scripts for suspicious payment redirect patterns
- Displaying warning pages when threats are detected
3. No Guarantee of Protection
Important: The Extension is a security aid, not an absolute guarantee. New phishing sites are created constantly. No security tool can catch 100% of threats.
The Extension relies on Google's Safe Browsing database, which may not include newly created phishing sites. Detection accuracy for payment redirect scripts depends on whether the malicious code is inline and matches known patterns. Always exercise your own judgement when browsing.
Google works to provide the most accurate and up-to-date information about unsafe web resources. However, Google cannot guarantee that its information is comprehensive and error-free: some risky sites may not be identified, and some safe sites may be identified in error.
4. Use of Third-Party Services
The Extension uses the Google Safe Browsing API for non-commercial purposes only, in accordance with the Safe Browsing API Terms of Service. Your use of this feature is also subject to Google's Terms of Service.
5. Permitted Use
You may use the Extension for personal, non-commercial browsing protection. You may not:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the Extension to bypass its safety warnings
- Use the Extension to harass, harm, or defraud others
- Redistribute the Extension under a different name or identity without permission
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Extension is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Extension will be error-free, uninterrupted, or free from security vulnerabilities.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Extension, including but not limited to damages resulting from a phishing attack that the Extension failed to detect.
8. "Proceed Anyway" Feature
The Extension allows users to bypass a warning and visit a flagged site at their own risk. By clicking "Proceed anyway", you acknowledge that you are overriding a security warning and take full responsibility for any resulting harm.
9. Updates and Changes
We reserve the right to update the Extension and these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Extension after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when changes are made.
10. Termination
You may stop using the Extension at any time by uninstalling it from your browser. We may discontinue the Extension at any time without notice.
11. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer resides, without regard to conflict of law principles.
12. Contact
